About Us
What We Do
Build and Elevate Community Interest Company (CIC) is a London-based charity dedicated to empowering young people to pursue careers in construction while fostering stronger, safer communities. Founded by Joshua King from Peckham, we focus on reducing youth crime by hosting community meetings, engaging with young people, and providing guidance to help them unlock their potential.
At the core of our mission is bridging the gap between young talent and the construction industry. We collaborate with leading companies to ensure the next generation entering the field is highly skilled and ready to succeed. Alongside supporting individuals, we also provide assistance to other businesses, strengthening networks across London.
Our primary events are held at the Dean Community Centre, but our outreach extends across London, where we host talks and community engagement initiatives. By building connections and elevating opportunities, we aim to inspire meaningful change for both individuals and communities alike.
Mission Statement
Build and Elevate is a Community Interest Company dedicated to empowering individuals, both young and old, by providing training and opportunities in various construction trades and the hair and beauty industry. We offer hands-on workshops, financial support for select applicants, and publish inspirational magazines that highlight unsung heroes within our communities. Our mission is to reduce crime by engaging with local communities and fostering strong, positive connections between residents and law enforcement, contributing to safer and more inclusive neighborhoods.

Who I Am
Joshua King is a 24-year-old electrician who gained national attention following a wrongful stop-and-search incident in which he was racially discriminated against. The incident propelled him into the spotlight, where his success as a young businessman—managing a team of over 20 workers—was widely recognized. Joshua made headlines not only for the incident but also for his achievements in the electrical industry. Following the attention, he vowed to use his platform to create a community interest charity aimed at spreading awareness and inspiring young people to pursue positive opportunities in their communities.
